~Movie Review~
Easy A is breath of fresh air in comparison to the usual high school comedies. It is funny, witty and highly entertaining.
Emma Stone stars as Olive Penderghast, where she plays a inconspicuous, unambiguous teenager whose life took a turn for the worse after she told her best friend a white lie about losing her virginity.
A high school Christian leader overheard her conversation and quickly spread the news to the rest of the school. After Olive’s staged imaginary fling with her gay friend( to keep the boys from bullying him), Olive was officially branded as a slut and “open for business”, as she starts accepting gift certificates in exchange for fake sex with the school nerds.
The situation starts getting out of control after Olive loses her best friend and is being teased by her fellow classmate. Thus, Olive started dressing up scantily and embroidered a red “A” in her clothing to make a statement and spite her classmate.
~Personal Thoughts~
Easy A is a must see as it has a strong cast, besides Emma stone stellar performance, Olive’s unconventional parents played by Patricia Clarkson Patatricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci Stanley Tucci added unforgettable amusement to the show.
Easy A has also managed to avoid the cliches found in most high school movies and successfully brought up many teen topics, such as sexuality, in an interesting and amusing way. Therefore Easy A is definitely one of the must watch show in your movie list!
